About Us

In a small close-knit hospital, a dedicated nurse named Alecia worked tirelessly through the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every day brough exhaustion and fear, yet Alecia faced these challenges with unwavering determination.

She had a mantra that she lived by “every day above ground is a gift, an opportunity to bring hope and healing”. One evening, she found herself caring for Basil, an elderly man who had been battling the virus in isolation. Holding his hand she whispers words of encouragement, infusing him with a strength he thought he’d lost.

Miraculously, Basil began to recover, his strength and spirit gradually returning. When the day came for his discharge, he tearfully thanked Alecia for giving him hope when he had none. Alecia’s resilience and belief in the value of each day inspiring everyone to understand that no matter how dark the times, the gift of one more day above ground was a chance to make a difference and embrace the possibility of a better tomorrow.

I am Alecia, the author of this story and the Creator behind “One more Day Above Ground” merchandise. This was created to remind ourselves that each day is a gift for another chance to fulfil our destiny. With each day above ground we give honor and thanks to Christ, as we could not do anything without him.
